Extension Dependent KITAS
DETAILS:
The Extension of a Dependent KITAS in Indonesia allows foreign family members (such as spouses and children) of foreign workers or KITAS holders to extend their legal stay in the country beyond the initial validity period of the Dependent KITAS. The Dependent KITAS is a type of Temporary Stay Permit that is typically granted to the immediate family members (spouse or children under 18) of a foreign national working or residing in Indonesia on a Work KITAS or Investor KITAS.
REQUIREMENTS:
Original Passport: The passport of the dependent must be valid for at least 18 months from the date of the extension application.
Sponsor Letter from Primary KITAS Holder: A letter from the primary visa holder (spouse or parent) requesting the extension of the dependent’s KITAS.
Copy of the Primary KITAS: The KITAS or the visa of the foreign spouse or parent must still be valid. A copy of the extended KITAS should also be included if it has already been renewed.
Marriage Certificate: A marriage certificate is required if the dependent is the spouse of the primary KITAS holder. It must be legally recognized in Indonesia. If the marriage was conducted abroad, it may need to be registered with Indonesian authorities.
Birth Certificate: If the dependent is a child, a birth certificate is required as proof of the parent-child relationship.
Proof of Domicile: A letter of domicile from the local neighborhood authority (RT/RW) confirming the place of residence in Indonesia.
Family Card (Kartu Keluarga): For dependents, the family card showing the inclusion of the dependent family members under the primary KITAS holder.
Previous KITAS: A copy of the dependent’s current KITAS, which is about to expire.
Application Form: The form for the extension of the KITAS must be completed and signed.
Fee for KITAS Extension: There is a fee for the extension of the Dependent KITAS, typically ranging from IDR 700,000 to IDR 1,000,000 (approx. USD 50 to USD 70), depending on the region and the length of the extension.
