Extension Retirement KITAS
DETAILS:
The Extension of a Retirement KITAS in Indonesia allows foreign nationals over the age of 55 who have retired and wish to continue living in Indonesia to renew their existing Retirement KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit). This permit is issued for individuals who plan to live in Indonesia during their retirement but do not intend to work or engage in business activities. The Retirement KITAS is initially valid for one year and can be extended annually.
REQUIREMENTS:
Passport: The foreign retiree’s passport must be valid for at least 18 months from the date of the extension application.
Current KITAS: A copy of the existing Retirement KITAS that is about to expire.
Proof of Accommodation: Evidence of a long-term lease or ownership of property in Indonesia. The lease agreement must cover at least 12 months to align with the extension period.
Sponsor Letter: A letter from a registered Indonesian agency or local sponsor (usually an Indonesian citizen or authorized agency) that supports the extension.
Proof of Financial Means:
The retiree must provide proof of sufficient financial means to support their stay in Indonesia, such as a bank statement showing a minimum income of USD 1,500 per month or equivalent.
Alternatively, proof of a pension plan or savings that demonstrates the retiree has enough income to live in Indonesia without working.
Health Insurance: A valid health insurance policy covering the retiree’s stay in Indonesia.
Letter of Domicile: A certificate from the local neighborhood authority (RT/RW) confirming the retiree’s place of residence in Indonesia.
Application Form: A completed and signed application form for the KITAS extension, provided by the Immigration Office or agency.
Payment of Fees: The fee for extending the Retirement KITAS, which typically ranges from IDR 700,000 to IDR 1,000,000 (around USD 50 to USD 70), depending on the region.
