Extension Spouse KITAS

DETAILS:
The Extension of a Spouse KITAS in Indonesia allows foreign nationals who are married to Indonesian citizens to continue their stay beyond the initial validity period of their Spouse KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit). The Spouse KITAS is issued to foreign spouses of Indonesian citizens and is typically valid for 6 to 12 months, with the possibility of annual renewals. When the initial validity of the Spouse KITAS is about to expire, the foreign spouse must apply for an extension to maintain their legal residency in Indonesia. The extension can be done annually and leads to eligibility for a Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP) after five years of holding a KITAS.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Original Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least 18 months from the date of extension.

• Marriage Certificate: You must provide an official Indonesian marriage certificate. If the marriage was conducted abroad, it should be registered with the Indonesian authorities.

• Indonesian Spouse’s KTP (National ID): A copy of the Indonesian spouse's identity card (KTP).

• Family Card (Kartu Keluarga): A copy of the Indonesian family card, which includes both the foreign spouse and the Indonesian spouse.

• Previous KITAS: A copy of the current Spouse KITAS that is about to expire.

• Sponsor Letter from Indonesian Spouse: A letter from your Indonesian spouse acting as the sponsor for the visa extension.

• Proof of Domicile: A certificate from the local neighborhood authority (RT/RW) confirming your residence in Indonesia.

• Photographs: Passport-sized photographs of the foreign spouse.

• Application Form: The immigration form for the KITAS extension, filled out by the foreign spouse.

• Fee for KITAS Extension: The extension fee varies but typically ranges between IDR 700,000 to IDR 1,000,000 (approx. USD 50 to USD 70), depending on the region and immigration office.
