Step Child KITAS

The Step-Child KITAS in Indonesia is a visa that allows a foreign step-child of an Indonesian citizen to reside in Indonesia temporarily. It applies when a foreign child’s parent marries an Indonesian citizen, and the child is brought into Indonesia under the guardianship of the Indonesian step-parent. This visa offers a pathway for mixed-nationality families to live together legally in Indonesia. The Step-Child KITAS allows foreign children who are step-children of an Indonesian citizen to live in Indonesia. It helps keep families together in cases where a foreign parent marries an Indonesian citizen, and they want their foreign child to reside with them in Indonesia. The visa is for children under 18 years old who are unmarried.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months

  • Proof of living expenses US$2,000

  • Recent passport- sized photo

  • Application letter from the father or mother who is an Indonesian citizen

  • Birth certificate issued by an authorised institution, if the birth was reported to the Indonesian embassy, it must be translated into Indonesian (except for documents in English)

  • Marriage certificate of the parents, either from Indonesia or aboard, but must be reported and registered with the civil registry in Indonesia

  • Family card mother or father Indonesian Citizenship.
